Coaching

Coaching for Trail & Road Running of any distance.

My passion, enthusiasm, organizational skills, accountability and personal commitment to the sport of ultra and trail running are what I offer. Running is our entry point and opportunity for connection. Time working together builds a plan that works with your life. In our first meeting, in person or on the phone, I want to learn about YOU, your background, current life and running goals. We will then build your training and racing schedule together and work through the season/year to adjust for the realities of life.

Client Testimonials

Ammi recorded a thoughtful testimonial while enjoying her amazing backyard

Krissy’s approach to coaching has reshaped my relationship to running as a lifelong pursuit. She’s taught me how to respond to training and my body with kindness. Strangely, shifting my typical bludgeoning-by-miles approach resulted in more joy and less suffering. Collaborating with her toward my goals was like having an accomplice along for the whole journey, whether trying to get my mile time a little faster or taking on an ultra.

Monica - Run Rabbit 100 2023

I chose to work with Krissy because she is a close friend and she knows me, but what I got from this experience was so much more then why I hired her. I originally asked Krissy to help keep me accountable with proper fueling I had been struggling for years with disordered eating patterns. I knew if I made myself accountable to a friend I would have a much better chance of success. Both with running and my health. Krissy knew my current fitness level and understood where I was as a 54 year old woman with 30 years of running on my body. She developed a training plan that not only included running but mobility, recovery, strength training, and fueling. She checked in weekly with reminders, motivation and what I wanted most of all, accountability. This year working with Krissy has put me on a great path moving forward. I met and exceeded all of my goals. I won my age group for ever race I ran, 50k, 70k and 100 miles. I got that Hardrock qualifier with Krissy by my side.

Steve & Genevie in Iceland 2022

Steve & Genevie in Iceland 2022

I just wanted to say hi, check in a bit and thank you. Genevie and I recently returned from Iceland where I ran the Hengill 53k and we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. Had a really fun and amazing time exploring all around. The race went well. I actually got to a start line and finished! I worked hard to get there, enjoyed every day of the process, had no injuries or illnesses over many months of training and I owe much of that to you! I followed the “beginner” training plan in your book. It might have been the first time I followed a plan, religiously, workout to workout, week to week and without missing a beat. It worked out so well! Keeping up with my strength work (quality sleep, great nutrition, etc.) and your plan seemed to keep me resilient and somehow recovered enough to keep going. There were some tough days of course, but I knew that is also part of the training (mental toughness, right?), so I just got up and went out with a good attitude and trust in the process, every single day. Too bad it took me 63 years to figure out training consistency and following a wise (and not overreaching) plan from a great coach like you! You are quite an inspiration for me and others, in so many ways, Krissy. Many thanks!

Hi Krissy! I’m calling real quick to let you know that I very, very, very much appreciate all of the help that you have provided. And while I was certainly aiming to engage with you again over this next this season, all that life is throwing at me right now I need to garner as much control of a couple of things that I know Bronco has been through… that has already been said. What I really want to let you know is just that I think you’re awesome. And you helped my family out more than you will ever know and we love you very much. I do look forward to hopefully giving you a big hug someday. I wanted to reach out with a call instead of a text because that is how I roll.

8th grade, High School, Ultra = BOOK!

The book includes detailed training plans, stories, and advice. The feedback from the first edition was so incredibly positive that I was able to work with Page Street Publishing to overhaul and update to create the second edition. I love that even though it was written for first time ultra runners (because that is who I primarily love to coach!) runners of all levels are telling me that they love it. People that are running their 50th ultra to those who will never run an ultra have told me that there is great information for anyone. We are all always learning.
